Today's rant

So today I saw on the news before I left for work, that the government has another new plan to help out home owners and their mortgages. Some of the details of this includes a restructuring of repayment schedules that would bring these homeowners DTI( debt to income) ratios down to about 38%. I'm wondering where the hell was it? I personally think this is the fault of both the homeowners and the lenders. But, I'm more curious as to what the guidelines will be or the qualifications to get your mortgage "reworked" as they call it. It seems like once again its an opportunity for the savy to come out on top and the real people that need help will be left in the dust again, which I guess is an arguement as to why these "less fortunate" people find themselves in a mess all the time. Anyways, the only reason why I ramble about this stuff is because I used to work at a mortgage company and I personally saw these savy people out smart even the "predatory lenders" and come out on top. I also saw the idiots who stumbled on a good deal and had the system work for them for awhile before they realized their mess. The moral of the story is get help while you can, because nobody wants the reset button to be pushed.
